How can i use remote control? |
An input form for Remote Control is in "Setup".
This form creates a config file
http://www.opensmartcam.com/YourWebcamDir/config.txt
Enter this config.txt in your phone:
http://....config.txt
Other possibilities:
- Via SMS (enable checkbox)
- Via Browser (only in your Home Network via WLAN, not possible via GSM!)
- Via Opensmartcam:
configure-->RemoteControl-->ControlWebsite:

I get no uploads!? |

Check the Server address: Configure --> Upload --> Http --> Server address. It must be: http://www.opensmartcam.com/MyDir/cam.php. (substitute "MyDir" with your directory.
- Check the Operation Mode: Configure --> Activity --> Operation Mode. Test "Manual mode" and tap on the preview image.
- Keep in mind: Only "Semi Background" and "Background (hidden)" are working, when display is closed or locked
- Check "Daily Activity Start" and "Daily Activity End" in Activity settings
- Disable "No Night Uploads" in Activity settings.

Once configured in the right way, it is running without any problem.
- Disable GPS: Configure --> Picture --> GPS
- Disable Imprint GPS: Configure --> Picture --> Imprint --> Position and Location
- Disable Remote Control: Configure --> RemoteControl --> ControlWebsite
- Disable Ads: Configure --> System --> Disable Ads

What is the best configuration for "standalone / long-term applications" ? |
MobileWebCam settings
- if your cam supports "full background mode", this is the best mode,
- disable the internal webserver "nanohttp",
- disable "Ads",
- disable "Keep screen on",
- enable "Autostart",
- disable "GPS".
smartphone settings
- disable GPS
- if running in semi background mode: install a black background image, reduce screen brightness to minimum
- disable all other Android syncs,
- try to remove play store (and all the services) and all their internal invisible app and service auto updates - at least remove/clear you account there,
- disable Maps and other apps which like to phone home,
- root your phone, and enable SMS commands in mobilewebcam settings. Reboot your phone via SMS and give authorization to Superuser,
- if possible: set connection to 2G,
- the best solution is to attach a bigger battery: use a 12V lead battery and the "TriggerCircuit". It transforms the 12V supply with efficiency of 90%...97% to 4.2V for trickle charge of 3.7V Li-Ion Accu, visit our Forum
- or use a 10.4Ah, 3.7V Li-Ion Pack from me-systeme.de, which may be installed inside the opensmartcam housing,
- order a ready to use camera in our shop
